1. Who we are

SpeakLingua ("we", "our", "us") operates the SpeakLingua web app at speaklingua.app and the SpeakLingua Telegram bot. We provide AI-powered English speaking practice and exam preparation services.

2. What we collect

  • Account info: Email address or Telegram user ID when you sign in.
  • Voice recordings: Audio you record during practice sessions. These are sent to our speech-to-text provider (Groq / OpenAI Whisper) for transcription and are not stored on our servers after processing.
  • Practice data: Scores, session history, and streak information to power your progress dashboard.
  • Payment info: Payment transactions are processed by Razorpay. We store only the transaction ID, plan type, and amount — never your card or UPI details.
  • Usage data: Anonymous session counts and feature usage for product analytics (Google Analytics 4).

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and improve the SpeakLingua service.
  • To track your progress and personalise practice sessions.
  • To send usage reminders and product updates via Telegram (only if you have opted in).
  • To process payments and manage your subscription.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Data sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us operate the product:
  • Groq / OpenAI — speech transcription (audio is not retained beyond the API call)
  • Supabase — secure database hosting in the EU
  • Razorpay — payment processing
  • Vercel — application hosting
  • Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics

5. Data retention

  • Voice recordings are processed in real time and not stored after transcription.
  • Practice scores and session history are retained as long as your account is active.
  • You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@speaklingua.app.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@speaklingua.app.

7. Cookies

We use only essential session cookies and Google Analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking beyond Google Analytics.

8. Children

SpeakLingua is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email.
